The Dr. Pius Font i Quer Arboretum-Botanical Garden of Lleida has completed the construction of a rock garden, a new space that will house plants, especially cactus, from the hot deserts of Sonora and Mojave (USA) and Chihuahua (Mexico). The space occupies about 1,500 m2 and currently has four species of cactus planted. In the spring, after the cold winter, the Arboretum will carry out more plantings.
The Arboretum's technical management has designed and directed the construction of the rock garden. The work has been led by seventeen students and a teacher-instructor from the Gardening Course of the Salvador Seguí Municipal Institute of Occupation and five students and two teacher-instructors from the second year of training at the Gardening and Florist Institute of Mollerussa.
